11. Jaswar-Siow Drag Theory

Potential-Morison

The Jaswar-Siow Drag Theory is developed by integration between difraction Potential and Morison drag. The theory was founded by J.Koto and C.L.Siow, collaboration between Ocean & Aerospace Research Institute, Indonesia , Mechanical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Malaysia, Department of Transportation and Environmental Systems, Hiroshima University, Japan , National Research Institute of Fisheries Engineering (NRIFE), Japan and Centre for Marine Technology and Engineering (CENTEC), Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa, Portugal.

The theory is able to evaluate heave motion response of floatig structure. This diffraction potential-Morison Drag term to predict the Round Shape FPSO heave motion response. Morison equation drag correction method is applied to adjust the motion response predicted by diffraction potential theory.
The theory was applied into commercial software which is called Offshore Pro Software.

The Stability of Mobile Floating Harbour theory is developed by using Morison drag theory. The theory was founded by J.Koto and K. U. Tiau, collaboration between Ocean & Aerospace Research Institute, Indonesia and Mechanical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Malaysia.

The theory is able to evaluate roll amplitude of mobile floatig habour during loading and unloading.
The theory was applied into commercial software which is called Mobile Floating Harbour Pro Software.

J Installation

The J-Lay subsea pipeline installation theory was developed by using Catenary theory. The theory was founded by J.Koto and Abdulhafedh Abdulrab Sharaf Alahdal, collaboration between Ocean & Aerospace Research Institute, Indonesia and Mechanical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Malaysia.

J-lay installation method has been the most comfortable technique for installing the offshore pipelines in ultra-deep water forming the J-shape as it reaches to the seabed. The theory is able to evaluate installation position and tension of subsea pipeline during installation.
The theory was applied into commercial software which is called Subsea Pro Software.

The Jaswar-Siow Interacting Bodies Theory was developed by integration Diffraction Potential and Motion Dissipate Energy concept and Huygens Principle Theories. The theory is able to predict the influence of wave generated by the motion of nearby structure to the RAO of the floating structure.
